You are welcome to add any a-la-carte enhancements to our packages, but you may find that selecting all of your services a-la-carte is more ideal to truly customizing your dream ceremony.

Yes! As a full-service resort and Weddings/Celebrations Department we have all the resources you might possibly need at your fingertips and one of our expert specialists will assist you with all of your planning needs!
Do you perform ceremonies on the beach?
At this time we do not perform ceremonies or vow renewals on the beach; however, we offer our dramatic Sunset Cliff locations as excellent alternatives. Please see our ceremony venue descriptions to learn more about these locations.

Do you allow outside food or beverage?
No, we do not allow food and beverage not provided by our hotel with the exception of specialty alcohol. If we are not able to procure the wine, champagne or hard liquor of your choice, you may provide your own for a corkage fee of $15.00 each plus service charge and tax for 750 ml wine and $25.00 each plus service charge and tax for 750 ml champagne or 1 Liter bottle of hard liquor. Any other sizes are subject to different pricing and all alcohol provided by you must be approved by the Catering/Weddings Department.

Are there any special discounts on rooms?
We would be happy to extend a discount on a block of ten or more rooms. If you are interested in a room block, please speak with your Celebration Specialist who can prepare a quote for you.

How do I obtain a marriage or civil union license and who makes this appointment?

Do you provide a menu tasting?
Should you require a menu tasting any time during your planning after you've signed an agreement, we would be happy to provide you with a sample tasting in order to help you determine your food selections with a maximum of three items. Beyond that, or if you have not signed a contract, there will be a charge of $25.00 per course per person plus 20% service charge and 4.166% tax. The menu tasting must occur at least 60 days prior to your event.
We also offer cake tastings at a charge of $100.00 per 6” cake (with no decoration).

What is your service charge?
A 20% service charge of the total Food & Beverage revenue (plus applicable taxes) will be added. This includes 16% gratuity for Banquet Employees. No other fee or charge is a tip, gratuity, or service charge for any employee. Service charge is subject to 4.166% tax. Effective July 1, 2011, the gratuity paid to Banquet Employees is 16%.

We allow up to two hours for ceremonies only and up to six hours for ceremony and/or reception events. There are certain event net Minimum Revenue Guarantee (MRG) requirements for each venue that vary by day of week. Your net MRG for your complete event will be determined by the venue you choose that has the highest MRG value. For example, if you have a ceremony in the Chapel on a Saturday with a reception to follow at the Hawaii Lawn, your total event net MRG will be $1,500 since Hawaii Lawn has the higher of the two values.

What is included in the price of the set-up fee(s) and/or the cost of the menu?
A set-up fee of $500 plus tax will be charged for all food and beverage catered events. The set-up fee includes the setting of the tables, chairs and standard white linens.

Are there any other restrictions I should know about?
Our beautiful Bayside Wedding Lawn is not able to accommodate amplified music although acoustic instrumentation is allowed.
If you would like a weekend wedding or ceremony (Saturday or Sunday), we require you to have a minimum of $5,000 in catered food and beverage.

When is the best time to get married in Hawaii?
Any time is a good time to get married in Hawaii but typically May and June are the busiest months for weddings. If you want to consider a less busy
time when there may be fewer people here, January – March and September – November may be better for you.

Do you offer discounts depending on time of year or time of day?
Since anytime is a good time for your special ceremony in Hawaii, we do not offer discounts. However, there are lower food and beverage revenue requirements Monday through Thursday.

When do I need to have all of my choices selected for food, beverage and all vendor services?
As soon as you have decided on the choices for food, beverage, entertainment, flowers, photography, etc., please contact your dedicated Celebration Specialist so they can secure your preferences. All decisions need to be finalized a minimum of 45 days in advance of the ceremony date including all ceremony, reception and dinner details.

Can I hire my own vendor services outside of the hotel?
All vendors must be contracted through the Hotel’s Wedding/Celebrations Department. If a request is made for the services of a vendor not arranged by the hotel, the request must be made in writing and approved by the Wedding/Celebrations Department prior to guaranteeing those vendors’ services.

Can I ship my dress and other items in advance?
Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa will accept shipment(s) to the Hotel during normal business hours of 8:00am – 4:00pm Monday through Friday up to one week in advance of the ceremony date for a nominal charge and charges are based on size and/or weight and determined by our Receiving Clerk. It is highly recommended that a courier company be used to ship the items and insurance and a tracking number are obtained. The shipment must be made to the Hotel as follows:

Is there a ceremony rehearsal?
We recommend a rehearsal in order to become familiar with the aspects of the ceremony for the couple, wedding party and immediate family and your wedding specialist will schedule this with you approximately 30 days prior to your ceremony. The Officiant will not be present prior to the ceremony unless special arrangements have been made in advance.

How long will you hold space before we have to give a deposit?
We will hold space complimentary for one (1) week. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure the space on a definite basis in addition to signing a wedding / catering agreement.

Is the deposit used towards my event?
Yes! Your entire deposit will be applied toward the final billing of your event(s).

When are payments due?
We require a non-refundable deposit of $500.00 if you're having a ceremony only and $1,500.00 if you're having a ceremony and/or reception in order to guarantee your date. Full pre-payment of your event(s) is due 30 days prior to your event with any final billing due at the conclusion of your event. The payment schedule and amounts will be specified in your wedding / catering agreement but will change depending on your final agenda. Payments may be made by via valid credit card, cashiers check, postal money order, traveler’s check or business or personal check with valid credit card back-up provided. All funds are to be in U.S. Dollars and drawn from U.S. banking establishments only.

How far in advance do we have to provide the final guest count?
The final guest count will be required by 12pm, three (3) days prior to your event and is not subject to reductions but you may increase your count.

Yes! Our banquet staff, wedding/celebrations department and florist will make certain that the final details are in place prior to the start of your event.
