NEW MEETING FACILITIES A WELCOME BOOST TO KONA

KEAUHOU, HAWAII’S BIG ISLAND – Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa offers meeting, convention and incentive groups new options for facilities along the Kona coastline.

Outdoor venues are spacious enough for groups from 200 to 1,800. They include the Bayview Lawn with its breathtaking view of tranquil Keauhou Bay, the open air, covered Cyrstal Blue Terrace and Crystal Blue Point overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the lushly landscaped Hawaii Lawn and the deck of the resort’s extensive multi-level Manta Ray Super Slide & Pool area.

The resort welcomes groups from 20 for breakouts or board meetings in the Bay View Meeting Rooms to receptions for up to 1,200 in the Keauhou Convention Center. Complete banquet catering enhances the Hawaiian experience with cuisine created and themed especially for every meeting planner’s needs. Wireless high-speed internet access is provided throughout the resort including ballrooms and meeting rooms.

A full service business center, the Ho'ola Spa, complimentary 24-hour fitness center, tennis courts, daily children’s program and play center, two restaurants, and numerous other resort amenities means Sheraton Keauhou Resort and Spa on the sunny Kona coast now affords meeting planners with a new choice for meetings in Hawaii.

“We are excited to offer a product here on Hawaii’s Big Island that allows us to expand in to new markets for meetings, conventions and incentive groups for the island,” said the resort’s director of sales and marketing, Revell Newton. “Our location within the Keauhou Resort area and all the amenities such as water activities, golf and shopping that are nearby will enhance every group’s experience here.”

Situated on an ancient lava flow on Keauhou Bay, the resort is located on 22 scenic oceanfront acres. The hotel boasts 521 spacious guestrooms and suites featuring Sheraton “Sweet Sleeper” beds, in-room coffee maker, wireless internet access, iron and board, hair dryer, television and mini-refrigerator. Bathrobes are offered in Kona Wing guest rooms.

Guests can enjoy special hiking and bicycling tours conducted by local experts. In addition to the cultural activities available to guests, the hotel’s location at the water’s edge offers the ideal spot for viewing one of nature’s own unique exhibitions – most evenings, manta rays glide along the shoreline to feed in front of the hotel, delighting onlookers with their graceful maneuvers. The manta ray even became the inspiration for the resort’s logo.
