Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa has partnered with Ka`ike Productions to showcase Kamaha`o, “The Wondrous Myths of Hawaii.” Kamaha`o, the resort’s new luau dinner and show, performs each Monday evening, outdoors under the stars.
Kamaha`o is certain to become one of visitors most memorable experiences. The show is so cutting edge organizers are hesitant to even call it a luau. While laced with many of the aspects expected at a luau such as the excitement and gracefulness of traditional Hawaiian dance to delicious food prepared by Sheraton Keauhou’s talented culinary staff, Kamaha`o is also much more.
It is a state-of-the-art production with lavish theatrics woven in to each scene. Ka`ike Productions founding members Kaleo Phillips and Pono Murray worked long and hard to develop a concept based on factual history, original songs and chants. They’ve intertwined Hawaiian language, story telling and traditional hula with modern dance, acrobatic strength and beauty.
