Historic Kona Walking Tour
Experience Kailua's historic and colorful past. Take a 45 minute walking tour, at a leisurely pace, through one of the most historic sites in the state. Visit King Kamehameha's last seat of government, Ahuena Heiau - a restored temple first built in the 1500s, the first Christian church in the Sandwich Islands, built in 1837 and Hulihe`e Palace, the summer palace of Hawaiian royalty. Tours depart from the King Kamehameha Hotel lobby.
Kona Coffee Working Historic Farm Tour
The 1-hour Living History Tour takes you through the everyday life of a Japanese family on the historic Uchida Coffee Farm during the 1900s. Interact with costumed interpreters as they go about life on a coffee farm. The tour is offered Monday through Friday, on the hour from 9am to 1pm. Meet at the Kona Historical Society office, 81-6551 Mamalahoa Hwy.
Circle Island Land Tour

Hualalai Volcano Adventure
Treat the family to one of the most remarkable sights in the world: the inner-workings of a volcano. You’ll visit a hidden world of volcanic majesty at 6,000 feet, high above Kailua-Kona, in the privately owned lands of Kaupulehu. You’ll see desert coastal lava lands quickly fading away to dense tropical rainforest. The change continues as we leave the pavement for a short, yet rugged four-wheel drive to the trailhead. Once on site, amidst the cool mountain air, your Interpretive Naturalist will lead you on a discovery of deep craters, lava tubes, Ohia forest and magnificent views. Kilauea Volcano Hiking Adventure
The geologic creation of the Hawaiian island chain, a timeless battle between the elemental forces of fire and water, is one of the world’s greatest natural history stories. Surf Lessons
Group, private, or tandem lessons available for either a one-hour or two-hour session. All lessons include instruction, safety orientation, soft board, leash, footwear and rash guard. Complimentary resort shuttle stops at Kahalu’u Beach Park.
Jet Ski
Enjoy the sheer excitement of jet-skiing the beautiful waters of the Pacific Ocean. Great fun for the entire family. One to three riders per machine. Life Vests provided. Some restrictions apply. Half hour pricing and rider only option available.
Parasail
Parasailor’s are on the boat for approximately one hour, with a maximum of six passengers. Participants are winched on and off the boats hydraulically for safe and dry landings. There is no age requirement. Participants must weight at least 130 pounds to fly alone and maximum weight limit is 350 pounds for single or tandem. Early Bird Specials available. Deep Sea Fishing Expedition
The Big Island is one of the best deep sea fishing locations in the world. Hawai‘ian water fish include Marlin, Ahi (Yellow Fin Tuna), Ono (Wahoo), Mahimahi and Aku (Bonito). Experienced captains share their knowledge of the local waters for an exciting day of sport fishing! There are many charter companies available. Prices vary, as do boat size and amenities. Boats are six-passenger maximums and include all fishing bait and gear. Shares may be available. Boats depart from Honokohau Harbor. No bananas. Bring your own food and beverage.
Kamaha'o Luau Dinner & Show
No trip to Hawaii is complete without a luau. Evening on the Reef
Celebrate a beautiful Kona sunset sailing in style with a full course buffet and complimentary Mai Tais. “Must do” for romantics, a perfect way to toast your day in paradise. Check-in at the Kailua Pier for a 2hr cruise with live local entertainment. View dolphins, manta rays, turtles, and a variety of tropical fish and marine life.
Evening at Kahua Ranch
Join us for an evening on the historic 8,500 acre working ranch, which is located 3,200’ above sea level in the Kohala Mountains. The Kahua Ranch provides a unique and exciting experience full of entertainment, fun and storytelling around the campfire. The tour includes a fully narrated trip along Highway 19 climbing to the town of Waimea, then Highway 250 through the rolling hills and breathtaking scenery of the Kohala Mountains. History comes alive as we share stories of the area and the arrival of Paniolos. The evening includes an open bar consisting of local Kona beer, wine, soft drinks, a ranch barbeque and Paniolo entertainment including singing, horse-shoe throwing, roping, darts and a marshmallow roast.
